Using VLR To Remove HTV - Fixing A Cricut Fail

Cliff Notes: Buy VLR - Amazon is the only place I know of to find it. Apply to the back of the fabric.  Stretch the fabric.  Peel off the htv. Super easy.  Worked great! I love this pillow (second from the left), despite my mistakes in not welding the pumpkins to the truck...    But my husband and I did not get married in 1993.  That's when our twins were born.  We got married in 1991.  Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking either.  :-) VLR is something I had heard mentioned a few times on different facebook groups, so when I placed my last amazon order, I added a can to my order.  It has sat on the shelf ever since.  I was intimidated by it. Today, Design Space was down.  (Still is, actually...)  so it was a good time to try the VLR.  My first challenge was opening it.  Although I knew it couldn't actually be aerosol, when I saw I had to puncture the top (which the label says is plastic, but sounds more like me...

Fall Truck Snowglobe - 3d Paper Project With Cricut

I made the snowflake snow globe earlier this week, but I'm not quite ready for winter decor here..  so I thought I would attempt modifying it to a fall design.  My biggest lesson tonight?  Do not use Close to My Heart paper for these - stick to plain that does not have a white core, and that IS the same color on both sides.  :-) I started with a paid file, found here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/480696134/snow-globe-classic-red-truck-template SLICE OUT ALL THE SNOWFLAKES First I removed the snowflakes.  To do this was simple, I added a circle using the shape tool, sized it to fit in the center, and slice.  Repeat with each of the snowflake pieces, and with the trees. After slicing out the trees, I wanted to add some solid to the bottom of that circle, so I added a rectangle, and welded it. This is a good time to go through and delete all of the extra items from the svg.  The snow, the christmas tree, etc. SAVE AS BLANK SNOW GLOBE At this point I chose...

MYSVGHUT Classic Red Truck Snow Globe, Step By Step

This is my step by step from my very first attempt making this.  I took the photos as I worked, and I made some mistakes.  But nothing major, and it was really super easy to make!  I've made notes on what I would do differently next time, they are included in the steps.  I plan to put a battery operated tea light in the bottom of  these....  and I will probably add some writing to the snow globe base. Cliff Notes: This is a paid file.  $2.69.   I think it's well worth it - and so far I have not found a free snow globe svg anywhere. So much easier to put together than you'd think - it's probably the easiest paper project I've done yet!  Assembly literally takes about 5 minutes. I used a glue stick.  There are probably much better options - but a glue stick worked fine. The paper is all 8.5 x 11 from the card stock packs sold at Michaels,  4 sheets white, 2 sheets red, scraps of green, black, grey, and sparkly silver. Cricut Air ...

Heather's Cricut Tutorials & Step By Steps

When I make things, I tend to take screenshots and make step by step notes.  I do this not only to share them, but because I will not remember how I made something when I go back to make it a second time, if I do not do not.  This is my attempt to compile all of those tutorials and step by steps in one place. The tutorials below are all for specific projects, but I also keep a list of how to resources for things like how to use system fonts, how to use Font Lab Pad, Free Fonts that work as writing fonts, where to find free svgs, and much more.  All of those links are listed here: https://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2018/02/resources-how-tos-for-cricut.html A Thrift Store Redo -  Step By Step How To Transfer vinyl with contact paper Tutorials With Some Basic Skills How To Layer HTV (Christmas Pillows) Print then Cut t-shirts Knock Out Name Tiles Etching Glass Plates - with a cricut made stencil (These are all projects using htv) Simple Pillow Covers Applying HTV to Fl...
