Cutting Board - With Free SVG File

This is a youtube video, and if you follow this blog at all, you know I hate YouTube Tutorials and never actually watch them.  So I didn't watch this one either..  but I'm sharing it because I know some of you like them.  For the rest of us, just look at the photo for the idea - it's a key holder, with a vinyl mason jar and paper flowers.

Those paper flowers are from Design Space I'm fairly certain, but I also have a LONG list of templates and tutorials for paper flowers here - http://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2018/01/making-paper-flowers-with-cricut.html

Here's another version of the above that you could change the colors to make work for Mothers Day... https://www.thecraftpatchblog.com/2017/05/patriotic-pallet-wood-sign-with-rolled.html

How to Solve The Geocaching August Souvenir Puzzle #1

In August 2016, Geocaching is doing a series of souvenirs based on "missions" premium members receive as puzzles the week before the mission.  Non premium members just receive the answer the weekend of the mission.   The first puzzle was VERY simple, so simple that many were overthinking it. The bottom of the first plate gives you the hint to solve this - "A six is G" A= 6 letters after A = ABCDEF G C= 2 letters after C = CD E N= 1 letter after N = N O Continuing with the next 3 plates until you have the code to type into the page linked in the email, where the mission was revealed.  The answer had to be entered completely in lower case, I think that may have been more confusing than the actual puzzle. :-) On the 3rd plate, for W6 - you go back to the start of the alphabet.  So it was WXYZAB C If you completed the mission, finding a cache with more than 10 favorite points that week-end, you received this souvenir: For us, this meant traveling a bit, since we've ...

Dueling Hot Dog Stands In Upstate New York

While on our ASPGB 2017 road trip, our plans were changed a bit by some minor car trouble.  A quick Yelp search turned up these two hot dog stands nearby, and we decided to check them both out.  One meal at each place, that we split. We started at Taffy's, which according to Yelp reviews, is THE place for milkshakes. This is a super fun place.  All of the seating is outdoors, and almost all of it consists of these great gliders with canopies. But the surprising part was the food.  The food was REALLY good. The hotdogs had an a great taste.  The milkshake was fantastic (and came in soooooo many flavors - a whole wall of flavors) .  We got sweet potato fries with honey, and they were really good too. Spoiler alert - this place was my favorite, and I'd go out of may way to go back here again.   Next we drove the very short distance to Ted's.  This place is more of a chain, or at least there are more than one of them.  Apparently it's considered ...

Using A Plain Old Regular Iron For HTV Cricut Projects

I just use a plain old iron.  I set it between cotton and wool. No steam. It's a thrift store iron.  It cost me $2.  It's good and heavy - and old.  Probably a 1980's model.  I generally I use Siser Easyweed.  I've used some Stahls as well. Early on I used a little of the cricut htv, but it is generally more expensive, and I don't like it as well as I like the Siser. parchment paper, silicone baking sheet, thrift store iron, on an ironing board. I work right on my ironing board.  I think it works so well for me because it's the perfect height for me. It's an antique, all wooden, ironing board, if that makes any difference.  It  belonged to my husbands grandmother.   My craft space is a corner of my laundry room, so the ironing board  is just convenient for me. Silicone Baking Sheet I use silicone baking sheets inside my items when ironing.  It reflects the heat back, and gives me a nice flat surface inside the item..  ...
