Cricut Cheat Sheets

I keep these printed out on the cabinet doors in my craft space

My Cheat Sheet of My Favorite Fonts
is updated regularly.  I include links to download each of them, and all of these are free, most are from Dafont: http://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2017/12/my-favorite-fonts-cheat-sheet.html

Fonts With Tails Cheat Sheet
This cheat sheet is for fonts with "easy glyphs".  Fun fonts like I love glitter, where you can quickly access the pretty tails and swirls without needing a full character map (as is needed for Samantha).  I update this post regularly, and have links to download all of the FREE fonts here as well.  http://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2017/09/fonts-with-tails.html

Writing Fonts Cheat Sheet

Most fonts will write as an outline in cricut, but I have a long list of FREE fonts that will collapse on themselves and work great as writing fonts.  I'm constantly adding to this, so be sure to actually go to the link and check out the full sample sheet, and all the links for downloading them can be found there too.

Alternative Pens For Cricut
I keep testing new ones, so please check the link.  I have samples of how various pens work in Cricut - with no modifications. These do not require removing anything, or using pencil grips - these all just slip right into the machine the same as if they were the official Cricut Markers.  But some of them write so much nicer than the cricut markers - and they are all cheaper! http://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2017/12/alternative-markers-for-cricut.html

In Addition to writing, cricut can draw.  These are some great fonts for sketching words with cricut: http://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2017/12/writing-with-fun-fonts-in-cricut.html

How to Solve The Geocaching August Souvenir Puzzle #1

In August 2016, Geocaching is doing a series of souvenirs based on "missions" premium members receive as puzzles the week before the mission.  Non premium members just receive the answer the weekend of the mission.   The first puzzle was VERY simple, so simple that many were overthinking it. The bottom of the first plate gives you the hint to solve this - "A six is G" A= 6 letters after A = ABCDEF G C= 2 letters after C = CD E N= 1 letter after N = N O Continuing with the next 3 plates until you have the code to type into the page linked in the email, where the mission was revealed.  The answer had to be entered completely in lower case, I think that may have been more confusing than the actual puzzle. :-) On the 3rd plate, for W6 - you go back to the start of the alphabet.  So it was WXYZAB C If you completed the mission, finding a cache with more than 10 favorite points that week-end, you received this souvenir: For us, this meant traveling a bit, since we've ...

Fonts With Tails (Glyphs) Cheat Sheet

Glyphs are extra characters in fonts.  For fonts like Samantha (a paid font - there is no free version) you have to use a character map to access the extra swirls. There are a few fonts, such as I Love Glitter, where you can quickly add swirls (nothing as ornate as Samantha, but still pretty!) just by adding a few characters such as * \ [ ] or ().  I call them "easy glyphs". Download all four of these cheat sheets as a pdf file, here.  If that link does not work (too much traffic) Try This One. Links to download each font are found under the photos. Dr Doolittle's Roadside Cafe & Creamery

The "Lower" Restaurant.  There's a second restaurant up the hill, right next to this. I originally saw this place on one of the many roadside PA facebook groups I follow.  I thought it would be a fun place to stop for lunch on our way to the ASPGB 2017 - and I was not disappointed. There's normally an amish buggy here, being pulled by either the dinosaur or Sasquatch - but it was missing when we were here.   I've seen photos of an alpaca and goats here..  near this barn area.  We didn't see them when we stopped, they might have all been inside? There's a lot of road noise if you eat outside, but we sat right at the front of the outdoor seating, not realizing that there was more outside seating behind the walk up counter.  Just go back past the party barn, and you can sit between the train cars below, and the back of the lower restaurant. There are train cars everywhere you turn... I really wanted to play mini golf - but we didn't have time, and I'm...
