Gilmore Girls Ornaments

I found this little glitter tree at Michaels this year.  Be prepared - it's really a glitter tree.  I think you could follow my exact path around Michaels simply by following the glitter..  and after putting it up, everything nearby had a fine coat of glitter on it...  I don't care.  It's my laundry room, it's Christmas, and I LOVE this tree.

The ornaments I started with are from Michaels I think.  Maybe Wal-mart.  They were already glittered - and they were cheap. Although it's SO easy, and fun, to make your own glitter ornaments, white glitter is hard, and I think, if I remember correctly, these were cheaper than the clear ornaments.
Below I describe the fonts and graphics used for each, and the show references for each.

The Gilmore Girls font is thought to be Sackers Solid Antique Roman - and it can be found here:  http://fontsgeek.com/fonts/Solid-Antique-Roman-Regular

This is one of my favorites.  I love how it turned out.

I looked at making a No Cell Phones ornament - from the Lukes Diner sign - this site has a free sign you can download and print yourself - http://www.findingstarshollow.com/make-your-kitchen-look-like-lukes-diner-free-printable-no-cell-phones-sign-to-download-and-print-at-home/

Oy With The Poodles & I Jump You Jump Jack
These were graphics my daughter had already converted to use on ornaments on her own tree.  She is using the flat ornaments - which is smart.  These need to be made much smaller than 2x2 for the round ornaments.  Maybe 1.5x1.5

How to Solve The Geocaching August Souvenir Puzzle #1

In August 2016, Geocaching is doing a series of souvenirs based on "missions" premium members receive as puzzles the week before the mission.  Non premium members just receive the answer the weekend of the mission.   The first puzzle was VERY simple, so simple that many were overthinking it. The bottom of the first plate gives you the hint to solve this - "A six is G" A= 6 letters after A = ABCDEF G C= 2 letters after C = CD E N= 1 letter after N = N O Continuing with the next 3 plates until you have the code to type into the page linked in the email, where the mission was revealed.  The answer had to be entered completely in lower case, I think that may have been more confusing than the actual puzzle. :-) On the 3rd plate, for W6 - you go back to the start of the alphabet.  So it was WXYZAB C If you completed the mission, finding a cache with more than 10 favorite points that week-end, you received this souvenir: For us, this meant traveling a bit, since we've ...

Fonts With Tails (Glyphs) Cheat Sheet

Glyphs are extra characters in fonts.  For fonts like Samantha (a paid font - there is no free version) you have to use a character map to access the extra swirls. There are a few fonts, such as I Love Glitter, where you can quickly add swirls (nothing as ornate as Samantha, but still pretty!) just by adding a few characters such as * \ [ ] or ().  I call them "easy glyphs". Download all four of these cheat sheets as a pdf file, here.  If that link does not work (too much traffic) Try This One. Links to download each font are found under the photos. Dueling Hot Dog Stands In Upstate New York

While on our ASPGB 2017 road trip, our plans were changed a bit by some minor car trouble.  A quick Yelp search turned up these two hot dog stands nearby, and we decided to check them both out.  One meal at each place, that we split. We started at Taffy's, which according to Yelp reviews, is THE place for milkshakes. This is a super fun place.  All of the seating is outdoors, and almost all of it consists of these great gliders with canopies. But the surprising part was the food.  The food was REALLY good. The hotdogs had an a great taste.  The milkshake was fantastic (and came in soooooo many flavors - a whole wall of flavors) .  We got sweet potato fries with honey, and they were really good too. Spoiler alert - this place was my favorite, and I'd go out of may way to go back here again.   Next we drove the very short distance to Ted's.  This place is more of a chain, or at least there are more than one of them.  Apparently it's considered ...
