Which Apps & Websites To Use With Cricut -

This is not an app or website, but rather an extension that makes the thubnails of svgs appear as previews, and not just an html icon

Want to identify a specific font? Use “what the font”.  Web  Android Apple
What the font almost never works for me - but I have seen others get excellent results!  I think it depends on the font.

WordMark.it

Want to see what your saying will look like in various fonts? Use:r WordMarkIt Web
THIS is my favorite site.  It makes it SO much faster to choose a font!!

Want to place a watermark over your pics? Use: the app “snap seed”.  Android Apple

Want free fonts? Use: fontzillion or Dafont.com
(Do NOT add an S to Dafont.)  Remember that you do not open fonts in Design Space.  You install them to your computer, then design space can see all of your installed fonts.  Download file, unzip, find your computers font file, add the font.  You may need to restart your computer for them to appear, but usually if you just close design space and then open it again they will appear.

Want to Learn How To Install Fonts?  Windows  Mac

A Cheat Sheet of my favorite fonts (almost all from Dafont)
Want free SVG files? Use: lovesvg.com  Web
Longer list of free svg links HERE.

Want to convert a jpg to SVG? Use: convertio.co (Web Based) or Inkscape (Download)
    (Inkscape - Path/trace bitmap)
(convertio didn't work for me - but I haven't googled how to use it so maybe I don't know what I am doing.)

More Sites To Convert JPEGS to SVGS
(I have not tried any of these - these are just the recommendations I have saved)
https://picsvg.com/
http://pngtosvg.com/
http://svgcreator.com/

To convert photos to sketch drawing svg -
On Android - Try Adobe Capture https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.creativeapps.gather&hl=en

Want to Make A Monogram? Android  Apple  Web
Another one - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firelitstudios.monogram.freemium&hl=en
Also - look at TroyGram  for Monograms - http://troygram.com/3-letter-monogram/
Also https://www.markandgraham.com/pages/monogram-guide/monogram-maker.html

Want To Curve Text? Use Phonto.  Android Apple
     How To Use Phonto
How to Add Your Own Fonts To Phonto On Android
Troygram can also curve text, but the fonts are extremely limited, you cannot use your own.

Tired of the weird spacing when you use text in design space?  Use FontLab Pad - it will export as an svg, so you do not have to clean up the text when you import it to design space. FontLab Pad -   https://www.new.fontlab.com/fontlab-pad/

Want to Create A Word Cloud? Android Apple
Long list of various word cloud Web options here.
Or place it in a shape? https://wordart.com/
And another one - http://www.tagxedo.com/

High Logic Main Type Character Map
For windows - this is so much better than the built in character map.  You use this to find all the extra glyphs (pretty swirls and tails) in fonts like Samantha.

How it works:

Anyfont
I don't use any apple devices myself, but apparently on ipads and apple phones you cannot just add your own fonts - there IS  an app that will allow you to do so though.  (It's not free)
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/anyfont/id821560738?mt=8

Michaels and JoAnns both have apps with the coupons right in the app.

How to Solve The Geocaching August Souvenir Puzzle #1

In August 2016, Geocaching is doing a series of souvenirs based on "missions" premium members receive as puzzles the week before the mission.  Non premium members just receive the answer the weekend of the mission.   The first puzzle was VERY simple, so simple that many were overthinking it. The bottom of the first plate gives you the hint to solve this - "A six is G" A= 6 letters after A = ABCDEF G C= 2 letters after C = CD E N= 1 letter after N = N O Continuing with the next 3 plates until you have the code to type into the page linked in the email, where the mission was revealed.  The answer had to be entered completely in lower case, I think that may have been more confusing than the actual puzzle. :-) On the 3rd plate, for W6 - you go back to the start of the alphabet.  So it was WXYZAB C If you completed the mission, finding a cache with more than 10 favorite points that week-end, you received this souvenir: For us, this meant traveling a bit, since we've ...

Fonts With Tails (Glyphs) Cheat Sheet

Glyphs are extra characters in fonts.  For fonts like Samantha (a paid font - there is no free version) you have to use a character map to access the extra swirls. There are a few fonts, such as I Love Glitter, where you can quickly add swirls (nothing as ornate as Samantha, but still pretty!) just by adding a few characters such as * \ [ ] or ().  I call them "easy glyphs". Download all four of these cheat sheets as a pdf file, here.  If that link does not work (too much traffic) Try This One. Links to download each font are found under the photos. Dueling Hot Dog Stands In Upstate New York

While on our ASPGB 2017 road trip, our plans were changed a bit by some minor car trouble.  A quick Yelp search turned up these two hot dog stands nearby, and we decided to check them both out.  One meal at each place, that we split. We started at Taffy's, which according to Yelp reviews, is THE place for milkshakes. This is a super fun place.  All of the seating is outdoors, and almost all of it consists of these great gliders with canopies. But the surprising part was the food.  The food was REALLY good. The hotdogs had an a great taste.  The milkshake was fantastic (and came in soooooo many flavors - a whole wall of flavors) .  We got sweet potato fries with honey, and they were really good too. Spoiler alert - this place was my favorite, and I'd go out of may way to go back here again.   Next we drove the very short distance to Ted's.  This place is more of a chain, or at least there are more than one of them.  Apparently it's considered ...
