The Adventures Of Molly Mouse

I've had an idea for awhile, for a book about Molly and her geocaching adventures.

In my head, it's actually a series of books.

But on paper (or more accurately, in a digital file) there currently IS one book - I wrote one!

I'm working on the illustrations now. Because this has been an idea for awhile, I've been taking photos of Molly to use in the book. With some creative photo editing, I think these just might work.

The above image is the first draft of the cover.

I'm not exactly sure where I am going with this yet. I know I will at least self publish a few copies for my grandson, nieces and nephews, and maybe a few extra to take to geocaching events, to see if there is any interest.

No matter what I end up doing with the final project, I'm having a ridiculous amount of fun putting it together.

How to Solve The Geocaching August Souvenir Puzzle #1

In August 2016, Geocaching is doing a series of souvenirs based on "missions" premium members receive as puzzles the week before the mission. Non premium members just receive the answer the weekend of the mission. The first puzzle was VERY simple, so simple that many were overthinking it. The bottom of the first plate gives you the hint to solve this - "A six is G" A= 6 letters after A = ABCDEF G C= 2 letters after C = CD E N= 1 letter after N = N O Continuing with the next 3 plates until you have the code to type into the page linked in the email, where the mission was revealed. The answer had to be entered completely in lower case, I think that may have been more confusing than the actual puzzle. :-) On the 3rd plate, for W6 - you go back to the start of the alphabet. Fonts With Tails (Glyphs) Cheat Sheet

Glyphs are extra characters in fonts. For fonts like Samantha (a paid font - there is no free version) you have to use a character map to access the extra swirls. There are a few fonts, such as I Love Glitter, where you can quickly add swirls (nothing as ornate as Samantha, but still pretty!) just by adding a few characters such as * \ [ ] or (). Dueling Hot Dog Stands In Upstate New York

While on our ASPGB 2017 road trip, our plans were changed a bit by some minor car trouble. A quick Yelp search turned up these two hot dog stands nearby, and we decided to check them both out. One meal at each place, that we split. We started at Taffy's, which according to Yelp reviews, is THE place for milkshakes. This is a super fun place. All of the seating is outdoors, and almost all of it consists of these great gliders with canopies. But the surprising part was the food. The food was REALLY good. The hotdogs had an a great taste. The milkshake was fantastic (and came in soooooo many flavors - a whole wall of flavors) . We got sweet potato fries with honey, and they were really good too. Spoiler alert - this place was my favorite, and I'd go out of may way to go back here again. Next we drove the very short distance to Ted's.
